Climate Change Resource

"Sky Learning has created a Study Guide designed to be used with the National Geographic documentary "Six Degrees Could Change the World" where British author Mark Lynas and climate experts take a look at what effect each rise of 1ºC could have on the world."

The documentary is quite a good one as a source of case study material, covering places as diverse and New York and the Australian outback. Most geograpohy exam courses place an importance on case study knowledge and, as the study guide points out, without a few case studies at your finger tips you simply won't get into the upper mark brackets.

Even if you are aiming to just pass the exam, case studies are both a great way to learn and remember details, and a good way to gather up extra marks and help secure that pass. And for most of us, it's much easier to remember pictures and sounds than it is to read and memorise text books!

The is shown on the National Geographic channel on 24th February 2008 at 7pm, and is well worth watching / recording

But, if you can't / didn't see it, don't worry. Thanks to Sky Learning you can access selected clips from the film, and download a copy of the Study Guide as well. The clips are short enough o be manageable, but each contains the seeds of a good discussion or lesson activity, with or without the study guide.

So, visit the Sky Learning Explorer page and explore the resources they have to offer, for a taster of what they have, use the links below to watch the clips and get a copy of one of the case study guides..
